At Algenol, our Leadership embraces an integrated development approach with our personnel working in multi-disciplinary project teams to develop and commercialize DIRECT TO ETHANOL® technology. Algenol’s over 150-member team includes people from 14 nations around the world. Each of our project teams includes members from both US and Germany drawing from many areas of expertise. This approach yields creative, robust ideas and solutions and ensures strategic alignment throughout our organization.
The Florida team of biologists, aquaculture specialists, engineers and operations professionals leverage the work of their German colleagues and work together to scale-up hybrid algae strains from a few algae cells to lab- and production-scale cultures. Florida-based engineers and operations personnel develop, install and improve our unique photobioreactors and energy-efficient separations equipment.
Our research and development complex in Fort Myers, Florida, houses world-class molecular biology, culture collection, physiology, aquaculture and engineering laboratories, greenhouses and an outdoor research area. Upon completion of the pilot-scale integrated biorefinery project adjacent to our research and development complex in Lee County, Florida, Algenol will have the only facility in the world where an algae strain will be able to go from lab-scale single cell development to commercial-scale biofuel production on one site.
